Marcello Asciolla graduated with a Bachelor’s and then a Master’s Degree in Aerospace Engineering at Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II, Italy.
Afterwards, he received two research fellowships on path planning algorithms and multi-sensor systems (INS, GNSS receivers, cameras, LiDAR) for satellites and UAVs.
Currently, he is a Ph.D. student in Electrical and Information Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Bari, Italy, pursuing a program on real-time detection and tracking algorithms for satellites.
His interests and main areas of investigations are focused on the following: multi-sensor systems and architectures, sensor fusion and virtual sensing strategies, attitude/orbital mechanics and control for satellites, flight dynamics and trajectory planning algorithms for UAV swarms, and satellite constellations.
